A fast-paced short story thriller in the bestselling Justice series.
In a race against time, with the life of a young woman at risk, DI Lorne Simpkins and her partner, DS Pete Childs find themselves in an impossible situation which puts them in mortal danger.
Can the dynamic duo rescue her before she draws her final breath, or will they fall victim to a diabolical killer?
Being one of my favourite series of thrillers, it's always so exciting for me when the brilliant Mel Comley releases a new Justice book. I love it how she quenches my thirst by writing short, fast-paced fillers in between the full-length thrillers. In these short stories, the author takes us back in time to when Lorne still worked alongside DS Pete (Chunky) Childs.
Such a filler is Irrational Justice in which Lorne and Pete are on the hunt of a vicious depraved serial killer known as The Lynx who has already claimed three victims. He has now just snatched his fourth... a teenage girl. Will Lorne and Pete save the girl and return her to her mother before it's too late?
Well I couldn't wait to find out, and being fast-paced I practically flew through this book. I always wonder how this author manages to pack in so much action, drama, suspense and even laugh-out-loud moments in one book. And let's not forget that this is a short story which makes it even more remarkable.
I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend not only this short story but all the Justice series.
I’m a New York Times, USA Today, Amazon Top 20 bestselling author, iBooks top 5 bestselling and #2 bestselling author on Barnes and Noble. So far, I’ve sold over one and a quarter million copies sold world wide. I am a British author who moved to France in 2002, and that's when I turned my hobby into a career. In February 2016 I returned to the UK and now live in beautiful South Wales with the Brecon Beacons as an inspirational backdrop. I share my home with my beautiful rescue Labrador, Dex, who is the most intelligent dog we’ve ever owned, but it also means he’s a little wilful at times too.
I started writing the Justice series in 2006 and released the first book in the series Cruel Justice in 2010, there are now 14 books and several novellas and short stories available in this bestselling series. To date I have written 30 novels and several novellas and short stories across series. I have also co-authored a few books with NY Times bestselling author Linda Prather and the talented Tara Lyons.
I hope you enjoy my books.
