With unwavering tension throughout, especially in the last 40 percent of the book where I was practically devouring the pages, this was a very enjoyable, gripping, fast-paced read. It kept me hooked till the end thanks to some interesting, flawed characters and a clever, suspenseful plot. This author's writing is just superb; it is fluid and with the short-chapter setting makes this an easy, fast read.
Though I could roughly guess how the author would end the book, she still managed to surprise me with a few unexpected twists. This is a terrifying book that made me actually look behind my back more than once. The author says that Caleb is one of the scariest villains she has ever created, and I have to say that he is truly one of the scariest fictional characters I've ever read about.
This was my first book by Arlene Hunt and it certainly won't be my last and I highly recommend it.
