1. What is your middle name?
I do not have a middle name, but sometimes I wish I had one. Since I have the same name as the famous Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja, when I introduce myself to someone on the phone I always get the same reaction: “Oooh!! Are you the famous tenor?” or “Do you sing as well?” And I reply by saying “NO I’m NOT the famous tenor, and YES I sing…but only in the shower.” (though I actually used to sing in the local parish choir for some time…shhh!!!) At a certain point it becomes annoying. Duh!
2. What is your favourite drink?
I mostly like hot drinks like black coffee without sugar, cappuccinos and tea. But I also love beer and red wine.
3. What is your favourite song at the moment?
Oh I rarely listen to the radio nowadays but I just LOVE ‘Let her go’ by Passenger:
“Well you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go…”
and I LOVE SIA’s 'Chandelier' and ‘Big Girls Cry’ among others.
4. What is your favourite food?
Pasta and Pizza. I also love Chinese food.
5. What is the last thing you bought?
Guess what… a book. I bought ‘The truth will out’ by Jane Isaac.
6. Favourite book of all time?
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien.
7. Favourite Colour?
Green – it reminds me of nature. I like to go on long walks in the countryside and I find the green of trees very soothing. My first car was green.
8. Do you have any pets?
Yes, we have a chicken at home called Tweety. We love her to bits and she has recently begun regularly providing us with fresh eggs. Tweety is really teaching us things we didn’t know about chickens…Do you know that chickens LOVE cuddles as much as dogs? And that they eat practically everything including their own feathers? We also have a cute Guinea Pig named Spikes and a blue budgy named Sky.
9. Favourite Perfume?
Currently my favourite is Invictus by Paco Rabanne. I highly recommend it!!
Christmas of course!!! Love the atmosphere in general at home and in the streets. I love decorating our home and see everyone happy opening pressies! And it’s close to my birthday (31st December) so it’s more pressies for me! :-)
11. Are you married?
Yes, I’ve been married to my lovely wife Carmen for 11 and a half years now. We have two kids. Nicholas Joseph is 10 years old and Kelly Anne is 7.
12. Have you ever been out of the country, if so how many times?
Living on an island, the only means of transportation outside the country are either by plane or by sea. If I’m recalling correctly, I travelled abroad about 15 times, all by air. I love planes!
13. Do you speak any other language?
Well, my first language is obviously Maltese, which foreigners find very difficult to learn and understand. To give you an idea, imagine mixing up Arabic, Italian and the English language in one. It’s the result of Malta’s geographical position and of the many occupations that have held Malta under their control throughout the centuries.
I also speak fluently in English and Italian. I also understand French (though I don’t speak it fluently) and I know how to read Arabic. At the time I was in school, Arabic was a compulsory language.
14. How many siblings do you have?
I have two brothers and two sisters. I’m the fourth sibling.
15. What is your favourite store?
Any bookshop and sweetshop.
16. Favourite restaurant?
On the rare occasions when my wife and I are free to go out without the kids, we love to go to this lovely Italian restaurant not far from where we live. It’s called ‘Vecchia Napoli’, and it’s truly ‘a taste of Naples on Maltese soil’. Its food is wonderful and the soft Italian music in the background just adds to the lovely atmosphere.
17. When was the last time you cried?
Well I’m a rather sensitive soul and it doesn’t take much to make me cry. I sometimes cry when I think of my dear late father. But the last time I cried was in October when I was involved in a traffic accident. Another car bumped into me from behind as I was going to work. In twenty years driving I had never been involved in an accident and when I saw my car’s boot practically smashed I was in shock. I didn’t cry on the site of the accident, it was later on when shock began to ease. I love my Honda! :-)
18. Favourite Blog?
This is difficult to answer as there are so many fantastic blogs out there run by some fabulous bloggers. I follow them all and consider all bloggers my friends, however recently I’ve teamed up with three lovely blogger girls and together we’ve formed the #Blogsquad.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy…I’ve read the books as well! :-)

21. PC or Mac?
22. What phone do you have?
I use a Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo. I love Android.
23. What’s your favourite pastime?
What do you think? Reading no? But I also love aviation. I’m geared up with an airband radio and binoculars and I just love to spend time on our roof (roofs are flat in Malta) watching planes and listening to pilots and the control tower giving positions and directions. I love to watch approaching aircraft as they come in to land.
24. Can you cook?
If you consider boiling rice or pasta, or making a toast as cooking, then yes. :-D
25. Do you have any tattoos or piercings?
No, nothing! I have always wished to have a tattoo but I never found the courage to do it.
