Until now, Nicole's main focus in life has been running her successful business while raising her daughter, Sammy Jo, single-handedly. Now, Nicole's ex-boyfriend, Josh has turned up determined to rekindle the relationship he ran out on.
Before they get the chance to pick up where they left off, Nicole's personal life is put in mortal danger.
After writing quite a few excellent fast-paced thrillers, M A Comley decided to write a romantic suspense novella - Past Temptation - the first in her new 'Temptation' series. I'll tell you the truth - romances and the likes are really not my thing, but, being a huge fan of the brilliant M A Comley and her writing, I was curious to see what she's up to in this genre and if she's as good.
Needless to say, as with her thrillers I was utterly swept away by the characters she brought to life in this lovely story. I really liked Nicole, a single mum with a strong, tenacious character and a sharp tongue. Her life is devoted to her daughter Sammy Jo and her successful hairdressing business.
One day Nicole's world is turned upside down by the arrival back in town of Josh Holland, the love of her life, the only man she had truly loved passionately with all her heart. Ten years earlier, however, Josh had left her without a word and she never saw him again. She was abandoned with a thousand unanswered questions. Now that he's back, she is not sure whether she wants to see him again or not.
Josh is however determined to win Nicole back, but before they have a chance to trash things out between them, something terrible happens and the prospect of a fresh beginning is seriously put in jeopardy.
This was the first romantic suspense novel I've ever read and must say that it was an easy, enjoyable read and I was left satisfied. Having had a great time reading it, I will surely be waiting for the next one in the series.
